Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 launched– know about price, specs and more

Royal Enfield has announced the prices of its new bike, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, after a long wait. The Chennai-based bike maker unveiled the new generation Himalayan in full detail earlier this month, except for the prices. Now, prices for the latest iteration of the adventure tourer have been announced during the ongoing Motoverse (formerly called Rider Mania) in Goa.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: Prices, variants, color options

Starting prices for the Himalayan 450 start at Rs 2.69 lakh and go up to Rs 2.84 lakh (both ex-showroom). These prices will remain valid till 31 December 2023. Royal Enfield will offer the new Himalayan in three variants – Base, Pass, and Summit.

The base trim is available in a single Kaja Brown color, while the mid-spec Pass variant comes in Slate Himalayan Salt and Slate Poppy Blue colours. The top-spec Summit trim is available in two colors – Henley Black and Comet White.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: dimensional

The latest iteration of the Himalayan offers three seating options – standard seat height of 825 mm, low seat height of 825 mm and tall seat height of 845 mm. Additionally, there is also a Rally kit that raises the seat height to 855 mm. Wheelbase and ground clearance have been increased by 45 mm and 10 mm respectively, curb weight has been reduced by 3 kg.

Features

The new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 comes with features like full-LED headlights, and turn indicators. However, the biggest highlight is a fully-digital TFT instrument console with in-built navigation powered by Google Maps, smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth connectivity, and music playback.

Other features offered include a C-Type USB charging port, ride by wire with two ride modes – Performance and Eco, and switchable rear ABS. And going forward, Royal Enfield will be offering various accessories with the new Himalayan under two different categories – Adventure and Rally. However, the internals of these authorized accessories are under homologation and will be available at a later date.

Hardware Specs

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450’s new steel twin-spar tubular frame sits on a twin-sided swingarm, which sits on a new Showa-sourced suspension setup with 43mm upside down forks and a link type rear monoshock. , each has 200 mm of travel.

Braking duties are taken care of by large 320 mm front and 270 mm rear rotors. The new Himalayan rides on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels. These spoke wheels will come with the option of tubeless tires at a later stage, but for now they are equipped with tube tires until the homologation process for the same is completed.
