Early life and career
Ravindra Mahajani was born on 1 March 1949 in Pune, Maharashtra, India. He was the son of a school teacher. Mahajani was interested in acting from a young age and started performing in plays at school. After graduating from college, he moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in Hindi cinema.
Mahajani made her Hindi film debut in the 1972 film “Gharana”. He played a supporting role in the film, which starred Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan. Mahajani’s performance in the film was well received and soon she started getting offers for other films.

Awards and recognition
Mahajani was a recipient of the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award. He was also awarded the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for his performance in the film “Satte Pe Satta”.
Death
Ravindra Mahajani passed away in Mumbai on July 11, 2023, at the age of 74. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
