New Face-Off Between AAP and Centre: Atishi Evicted from Official Residence

Bungalow Dispute Sparks Allegations and Counter-Allegations

New Delhi: A controversy has erupted as Delhi Chief Minister Atishi claims she was evicted from her official residence just two days after moving in. This incident marks the start of a fresh clash between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Centre.

The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) alleged that Lt Governor Vinai Saxena “forcibly removed” Atishi’s belongings from the official home “at the behest of the BJP”. Visuals showed luggage and cartons being taken out of the residence.

The BJP, however, countered these allegations. Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta claimed that Arvind Kejriwal, Atishi’s predecessor, had not vacated the bungalow and most of his belongings were still there. He shared a purported PWD letter supporting his claim.

AAP Accuses BJP of Trying to “Usurp” Bungalow

AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh refuted these claims, stating that the bungalow was “yet to be allotted” and the BJP was spreading “lies” despite documentary proof of Kejriwal’s vacating the residence. He accused the BJP of trying to “usurp” the bungalow.

A Double Lock on the Residence

Sources report that a double lock has been put on the residence, and proper paperwork regarding the handover of keys was not submitted to the Public Works Department (PWD).

This incident has further intensified the already strained relationship between the AAP and the BJP. Both parties have presented their versions of the events, and the truth remains to be determined.
