The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the southwest monsoon will hit Kerala on June 1, two days ahead of its normal onset date of June 3. The monsoon is expected to cover the entire country by July 8.

The IMD has also forecast that this year’s monsoon will be normal, with good rains expected over most parts of the country. This is good news for farmers, who are hoping for a good harvest after two years of drought.

The monsoon rains are also important for the economy, as they bring much-needed relief from the heat and help to boost agricultural production.

The IMD has advised people to take precautions against the monsoon rains, such as avoiding waterlogging areas and staying indoors during heavy rains.
