Vistara Flights Face Bomb Threats
On Friday, October 18, 2024, three Vistara airline flights operating from Delhi received security threats on social media. As a precautionary measure, the flight to London was diverted to Frankfurt, while the flights to Paris and Hong Kong continued to their destinations. All three flights landed safely.
Bomb Threat Scares in the Air
In recent weeks, a number of flights operated by Indian carriers have received bomb threats, which have later turned out to be hoaxes. On Saturday, October 19, 2024, a Dubai-Jaipur Air India Express flight made an emergency landing at the Jaipur airport due to a bomb threat. Thankfully, the threat turned out to be a hoax.
Strict Measures Against Hoax Threats
The Civil Aviation Ministry plans to put in place strict norms to prevent incidents of hoax bomb threats to airlines. These measures may include placing the perpetrators on the no-fly list.
